Balanced Hormones, Balanced Life!

As we age, our hormone levels start to decline. By age 60, hormone production is reduced nearly 50% from early adult levels. Typical symptoms of low hormone levels include; loss of strength, fatigue, decreased sex drive, decreased muscle mass, weight gain, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, and loss of memory, just to name a few. Sound familiar? In men, this condition is known as Andropause, often referred to as “Male Menopause.” As hormone levels decline, many men feel as though they’re “getting old” much faster. In fact, many symptoms, once considered a natural part of the aging process: lethargy, depression, irritability, sexual dysfunction and mood swings, may actually be the result of adult hormone deficiency.

Not Just a Decrease in Production!
Starting around age 35 to 40, testosterone levels (Total Test) in men will decline by roughly 1% each year. It's not only a decrease in production that causes the testosterone deficiency, but an increase in Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG). SHBG is a glycoprotein that binds to testosterone and prevents it from becoming active. Only the so-called "Free" testosterone (Free Test) is biologically active. The drop in Free testosterone is even greater, roughly 1.2% a year.

The most common treatment for Hormone Deficiency is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Restoring healthy hormone levels helps to ease many of the undesirable effects of aging. This includes improvements in bone density and body composition. NSI offers therapy programs customized to address your specific deficiencies. Through comprehensive lab work, physical examination, and review of medical history our physicians can determine if hormone replacement therapy is right for you. Call today and see how restoring lost hormones can improve your quality of life on every level.

Are You a Candidate for Natural Hormone Therapy?
The primary goal of natural hormone replacement therapy is to relieve the symptoms caused by a decrease in hormone production. Natural hormone therapy is used to bring the body back to hormonal balance. Natural hormones imitate the body's natural processes as much as possible, thereby alleviating most of the unwanted side-effects and long term risks of traditional synthetic hormone replacement therapy. You may know you have a health problem related to hormonal imbalance, or perhaps you suspect that your health problems may be hormone related?
